Camp Deadlines
Every year the registration deadline for camp is on June 15th. That means that the week leading up to my birthday is always a crazy mess of emails and phone calls. Just mayhem in general. I love this ministry, and I'm happy to be a part of it, but I'm always excited to get past this deadline!
Swing Dancing
I wanted to do a birthday dinner this year with my Soma friends, but I was having a hard time finding a good time on the weekend to do it. That ended up working out for the best because on Tuesday we were able to do a joint birthday/farewell dinner and swing dancing with my friend Lauren who is moving to Ohio for med school. It was an awesome night with wonderful people and fun dancing. I feel really blessed to have such great friends in my life, although I'm sad to see one of them leaving us.

Bathroom Remodel
I'd been meaning to get the vanity in my master bathroom redone since I moved into my house in 2009. The sink was rusting through and the vanity itself was original to the house. I ended up putting it off when I moved in because there were other things that needed my money. And then in early 2011 I decided I'd use my tax return to do it. At first it was "I'll do it after Summit". And then it was after camp, and after Costa Rica....and then a year and a half later I'm finally getting around to it. "After Summit" apparently meant after Summit 2012!
It's somewhat unfortunate that it ended up happening this week of all weeks, but I'm still happy to finally have it done. There will be another blog post with pictures soon!

Birthday
And of course, today was my birthday. As I've said before, I'm a seriously blessed person and I have some amazing people in my life. Because of the fact that my birthday fell on a Saturday that had multiple events scheduled on it, I've actually been able to see a lot of people in person today and it's made for a fun birthday.
Philly
And for the cherry on top, on Thursday I was able to book my flight for my 4 day vacation to Philly this September. It's going to be the first time in two and a half years that I'm going to be using a vacation day for an actual vacation, and I'm really excited to have something relaxing on the calendar to look forward to.
